Our tour starts by picking you up from your hotel in Cusco, located in the heart of the city center. Our professional tour guides will greet you and provide an overview of the day’s route. From there, we will drive to our first destination.

We will start with Qoricancha, the “Temple of the Sun,” a sacred Inca site once covered in gold. Its perfectly carved stone walls display the architectural genius of the Incas. Inside, our tour guides will explain how this temple represented the spiritual heart of the Inca Empire. The Spanish built the Santo Domingo Convent on its foundations, combining Inca and colonial architecture in a striking way.

Next, we are going to explore Sacsayhuamán, a grand fortress that overlooks Cusco. Its massive stone walls, some weighing over 100 tons, are a remarkable feat of engineering. As we walk through, we will uncover its importance as a military, ceremonial, and astronomical hub. From here, we will enjoy amazing views of the city and the beautiful valleys around the Andes mountains.

We are going to Qenqo, an intriguing Inca ceremonial site carved directly into natural rock formations. Its underground chambers, serpentine canals, and mysterious altar reflect its use in religious rituals and festive ceremonies. Our guides will unravel the symbolism behind these structures, shedding light on ancient Inca spiritual practices.

Our next stop is Puka Pukara, or the “Red Fortress,” named for the warm reddish glow its stones take on at sunset. As we walk through its terraces and structures, we will be amazed by panoramic views of the Andean landscape, perfect for photos and reflection.

We will then visit Tambomachay, a site celebrated for its advanced hydraulic engineering. Its flowing aqueducts, ceremonial fountains, and tranquil surroundings will leave you mesmerized.  People believe Inca leaders used Tambomachay as a peaceful bathing place, and it offers breathtaking views of the Andes.

We end our tour by going back to Cusco. We will leave you on Plateros Street, close to the main square. This wraps up a wonderful day in Cusco.
