This Ausangate 7 Lagoons 1 Day Tour offers an exciting adventure through the stunning landscapes of the Sacred Valley. We will explore 7 lagoons, each with its vibrant colors and breathtaking views. This tour lets us explore high-altitude beauty, discover local flora and fauna, and relax in natural hot springs.
We will leave Cusco early in the morning, around 4:00 am, in our private transport. The drive to Pachanta will take approximately three hours. On the way, we will pass through picturesque mountain views and small local villages, which add to the charm of the Ausangate.
Upon arriving at Pachanta, we will begin our trek to the first lagoon, Azulcocha. This lagoon features deep blue waters. We will enjoy stunning views of the surrounding mountains, including Ausangate Mountain.
The trek to Azulcocha will take around 1 hour. Our guide will share interesting facts about the region’s natural and cultural significance.
Next, we will continue our hike towards Otorongo, Pucacocha, and Alqacocha. These lagoons offer varied colors, from turquoise to emerald green, creating a stunning visual contrast. We will spend time at each lagoon to appreciate the beauty and tranquility.
The altitude will continue to climb, so remember to drink plenty of water to prevent altitude sickness.
Our journey continues with visits to Q’omercocha, Orqo Otorongo, and China Otorongo. These lagoons are larger and offer expansive views of the surrounding high-altitude landscape. Orqo Otorongo is especially stunning with its mirrored surface, reflecting the majestic mountains. We will take short breaks along the way to rest and take photographs.
The walk between lagoons is about 5 hours round trip. After exploring the 7 lagoons, we will return to Pachanta. There, we will enjoy a delicious, traditional lunch.
The peaceful surroundings make for a perfect spot to relax and recharge. Following lunch, we will unwind in the natural hot springs.
The warm water will help soothe our muscles after the day’s trek. We will have about 45 minutes to enjoy the hot springs before heading back to Cusco.
After a relaxing time in the hot springs, we will board our vehicle for the return journey to Cusco. We will arrive at approximately 7:00 pm. The beautiful landscapes we passed earlier will make the journey back just as memorable.
