A tour operator representative will pick us up at the Cusco airport and take us to our hotel in the city. The rest of the day will be free to acclimate to the altitude. The city of Cusco sits at 3,399 meters above sea level, making it essential to rest and stay hydrated. We may explore the Plaza de Armas, admire the Temple of the Sun (Qorikancha), or visit local markets.
Day 1 Statistics:
A tour guide will pick us up early for a journey through the Sacred Valley at 6:00AM. The first stop will be the archaeological site of Chinchero, where Inca terraces and a colonial church stand.
Next, we will visit the Moray terraces, an Inca agricultural laboratory. The tour continues to the Maras salt mines, a stunning landscape of over 3,000 salt pools.
After lunch in Urubamba, explore the Ollantaytambo fortress, an important Inca stronghold. The day ends with a visit to the Pisac ruins, offering breathtaking valley views. We are going to return to our hotel in Cusco by private transport.

In the morning, we’ll travel by private transport from Cusco to Hidroelectrica, passing through the beautiful Sacred Valley. The drive will take approximately 6 hours, offering stunning Andean scenery. From Hidroelectrica, we will begin a scenic 3-hour trek along the railway to Aguas Calientes. The trek follows a section of the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu, providing glimpses of the Machu Picchu Mountain.
Upon arrival in Aguas Calientes at 5:30PM, we are going to check-in at the hotel and enjoy free time to explore. The town offers thermal baths, artisan markets, and great local cuisine. Rest early to prepare for the next day’s tour.
Day 3 Statistics:
A short bus ride will take us from Aguas Calientes to Machu Picchu, one of the New Seven Wonders of the World. A guided tour will explore key sites like the Temple of the Sun, the Intihuatana Stone, and the Royal Quarters. We may also hike to Machu Picchu Mountain for panoramic views.
After the tour, we will return to Aguas Calientes and board the Vistadome train to Ollantaytambo. Private transport will take us back to Cusco, arriving in the evening.
