On the Uros, Taquile, and Amantani Islands Experiential Tour (2 Days), we will visit Lake Titicaca´s islands. Starting at the port of Puno, we will take a boat ride to the floating Uros Islands made of totora reeds. You will discover the pre-Inca culture of the Uros people and experience their traditional lifestyle.
The first day, we are going to the Island of Amantani, where local families will host us for the night. As we witness the sunset over Lake Titicaca, our tour guide will share the island’s history and traditions.
On the second day, we head to Taquile Island to explore its unique culture and renowned textile art. After a scenic boat trip, we returned to the city of Puno in the afternoon. This tour lets you meet locals and enjoy the beauty of Lake Titicaca, the world’s highest navigable lake.

We start the day with a pick-up from your hotel in Puno at 6:45 AM. A boat ride across Lake Titicaca, the highest navigable lake in the world (3,812 meters / 12,507 feet), will take us to the Uros Islands. Locals have built the Uros Islands from totora reeds and maintained them for generations. Here, you will learn about the pre-Inca culture and meet the local community.
Next, we head to Amantani Island, where we spend the night. Upon arrival, local families will welcome us and offer a traditional lunch. You will have time to explore the island, interact with the local people, and enjoy stunning views of the lake. In the evening, enjoy a traditional dinner and watch the breathtaking sunset over Lake Titicaca.
After breakfast with your hosts, we head to Taquile Island, known for its ancient traditions and remarkable textiles. This island remains largely untouched by modern life. We will explore its charming villages, observe traditional weaving techniques, and interact with the welcoming locals.
Enjoy a delicious local lunch, then start the return journey by boat. On the way back, we will marvel at the panoramic views of the lake and surrounding islands. By the afternoon, we will arrive back at Puno, where you will be dropped off at your hotel.
