Hike along the railway towards Aguas Calientes, enjoying spectacular jungle and mountain views. After a tasty dinner, receive a detailed briefing about the next day’s guided tour of Machu Picchu. Rest in Aguas Calientes before the final ascent.
Before sunrise, ascend to the Lost City for an unforgettable guided tour. We will visit the main sites of the City of the Incas and learn about its rich history. Enjoy free time to explore further or hike Machu Picchu Mountain or Huayna Picchu for panoramic views. In the afternoon, return by tourist train and bus to Cusco, ending the journey.

The adventure begins with an early pick-up from the hotel between 5:00 and 5:30 a.m. The group heads to the reception area, where a delicious breakfast is served to start the day with energy. After breakfast, the journey continues through the Sacred Valley of the Incas, passing through stunning natural and cultural landscapes.
After approximately two hours, Ollantaytambo appears, a charming Incan town with cobbled streets and ancient ruins. A 30-minute break allows time to buy snacks, refill water bottles, and use the restroom. From here, the transport heads toward the “Abra Malaga” mountain pass, reaching an impressive 4,350 meters above sea level.
Upon arrival, full biking gear is provided, including full-suspension mountain bikes, helmets, gloves, and protective equipment. The biking descent covers 55 km of winding roads, passing villages, orchards, rivers, and streams for an exciting ride. The ride finishes in Maybamba, at 1,200 meters above sea level, where transport awaits to take the group to Santa María.
In the afternoon, we will go rafting on the Urubamba River. The river has gentle and moderate rapids. This makes it both fun and safe.
Before sunset, a 40-minute walk leads to San Pablo, a rustic jungle settlement deep in the rainforest. Here, a traditional dinner is served, offering an authentic taste of local cuisine. We will sleep in rustic jungle houses, enjoying the Amazon-Andean environment before the next day’s journey.
Day 1 Statistics:

The day begins with a hearty breakfast to prepare for the hike along the Urubamba River. The trail follows an original Inca path, surrounded by lush vegetation and incredible biodiversity. Along the way, see coffee plantations and coca fields, both essential to local culture and history.
During the hike, see parrots, hummingbirds, eagles, wildcats, centipedes, and lizards in their natural habitat. The trail is also rich with medicinal plants and fruit trees, including bananas, mangoes, oranges, mandarins, cacao, and pacay.
After several hours, reach Pacay mayo, a small village, and enjoy a well-deserved lunch at a local restaurant. The journey continues through more scenic trails until arriving at Cocalmayo Hot Springs. Relax in the natural thermal pools, a perfect way to soothe tired muscles after the hike.
Later, head to Santa Teresa, a lively town known for its coffee production and welcoming atmosphere. A delicious dinner awaits, followed by a comfortable rest to prepare for the next day’s adventure.
Day 2 Statistics:
Difficulty: Moderate
The day starts early with a traditional breakfast at 6:00 a.m. before continuing the Inca Jungle adventure. Those who choose zip-lining will go to a nearby camp and enjoy amazing views of forests and wildlife.
For those who prefer to skip zip-lining, the journey continues directly toward Hidroeléctrica. Once the group reunites, a hearty lunch is served, providing energy for the final stretch of the trek.
The hike follows the railway tracks, leading to Aguas Calientes, a charming town nestled at the base of Machu Picchu. The walk offers spectacular views of towering mountains and the rushing Urubamba River.
In the evening, we will have dinner in Aguas Calientes and receive important instructions from the guide for the next day’s Machu Picchu visit. Rest well, as an exciting final day awaits!
Day 3 Statistics:
Difficulty: Moderate
We will wake up at 4:30 a.m. and begin our final ascent to Machu Picchu. The one-hour hike will take us through steep jungle trails before reaching the entrance gate at 6:00 a.m.. We will enjoy the breathtaking sunrise over the Citadel of Machu Picchu.
The guided tour will cover key sites like the Temple of the Sun, Intihuatana, and Royal Quarters. After the tour, we will have free time to explore on our own. Those who booked in advance will hike Huayna Picchu or Machu Picchu Mountain for stunning panoramic views.
In the afternoon, we will descend to Aguas Calientes and board the tourist train to Ollantaytambo. From there, a private bus will take us back to Cusco, marking the end of our Inka Jungle 4 Days and 3 Nights adventure.
Day 4 Statistics:
Difficulty: Moderate to challenging
The best season is the dry season (April – October) when trails are drier and weather conditions are more stable. The rainy season (November – March) is still possible but has more slippery trails.
A moderate level of fitness is required. The trek involves long hikes, steep ascents, and high altitudes. Prior hiking experience is helpful but not mandatory.
