The mineral-rich waters, heated by underground volcanic activity, will provide a relaxing experience. The contrast between the warm pools and the cool mountain air will be refreshing. Those who prefer not to bathe may enjoy the serene environment and take stunning photos.
Back in Chivay, we will have time to enjoy a traditional Andean lunch (not included). Local dishes will include quinoa soup, alpaca meat, and fresh trout from the Colca River. After lunch, we will explore the town’s lively streets, filled with artisans and small markets. This will be a great opportunity to experience daily life in the highlands.
The journey continues to Patapampa, the highest point on the Colca Canyon trek. From here, we will admire the Andean Volcanic Mountain Range, including Ampato, Sabancaya, and Hualca Hualca.
